Time Duel (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a product operated by Rediox Tech LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with care and transparency. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Time Duel mobile application (“the App”).

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information You Provide

When you create an account and use Time Duel, we collect:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and optional profile photo
  • Authentication Data: Login credentials and tokens provided by Apple or Google Sign-In
  • Payment Information: Processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or bank details. We only receive transaction confirmations and IDs.
  • User-Generated Content: Challenge names, locations, times, and stake amounts you create

1.2 Location Information

Location is fundamental to how Time Duel works. Here is exactly how we handle it:

  • When Collected: Only when you actively press the Check In button during an active challenge
  • How Collected: Single one-time location capture per check-in — not continuous or background tracking
  • Storage: Location coordinates and timestamps are stored permanently as part of the challenge record for integrity and dispute resolution
  • Permissions: You control location permissions via your device settings. Disabling location will prevent challenge check-ins.

1.3 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers
  • Usage Data: Features used, challenge history, win/loss records, timestamps
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, crash logs, and performance data

1.4 Information from Third Parties

  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store: We rely on their age verification systems. Users must be 18+ to use the App.
  • Stripe: We receive transaction confirmations, payout data, and fraud signals.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Core App Functionality

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process and verify challenges and check-ins
  • Process payments and distribute payouts through Stripe
  • Maintain challenge history and user statistics
  • Send push notifications about challenges, reminders, and results

2.2 Security & Improvement

  • Improve app performance and user experience
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
  • Resolve disputes between users
  • Enforce our Terms and Conditions

2.3 Communication

  • Send important account and challenge updates
  • Respond to support requests
  • Send push notifications (can be disabled in device settings)

2.4 Legal Compliance

  • Comply with applicable US laws and regulations
  • Respond to valid legal requests from authorities

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited circumstances:

3.1 With Other Users

  • Challenge participants can see your name, profile photo, and check-in time for shared challenges
  • Your challenge statistics may be visible to users you challenge

3.2 Service Providers

  • Stripe: Payment processing, payouts, and fraud prevention
  • Firebase (Google): App infrastructure, authentication, and database services
  • Apple / Google: Push notifications and app store services

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information in response to valid legal processes, government requests, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.

3.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale involving Rediox Tech LLC, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

4.1 Active Accounts

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide our services.

4.2 Account Deletion

  • You have a 3-day grace period after requesting deletion to reactivate your account
  • After 3 days, your account and personal information are permanently deleted
  • Exception: Challenge history, location records, and check-in data are retained permanently for record-keeping, dispute resolution, and compliance. This data is anonymized where possible.

4.3 Legal Retention

We may retain certain data longer if required by law, for fraud prevention, or to resolve disputes.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures including:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit
  • Secure authentication mechanisms
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Restricted employee access to personal information

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access & Update: Edit your account information directly in App settings
  • Location Permissions: Control via device settings (disabling prevents check-ins)
  • Push Notifications: Disable anytime in device or App settings
  • Account Deletion: Delete your account anytime in App settings (3-day grace period applies)
  • Marketing: We do not send marketing emails. If we do in future, you can opt out.

7. Children’s Privacy

Time Duel is not intended for individuals under 18. We rely on Apple App Store and Google Play Store age rating enforcement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

8. International Data Transfers

Time Duel is currently available in North America. Your information may be processed in countries with different data protection laws. We take steps to ensure adequate protection through contractual commitments and applicable data protection frameworks.

12. Do Not Track Signals

The App does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals, as no industry standard exists for interpreting them.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App, updating the Last Updated date, and sending in-app or email notifications for significant changes.

Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

14. Dispute Resolution

Disputes arising from this Privacy Policy will be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions in our Terms and Conditions.
